Fry sight words is a popular wordlist for elementary school students and their teachers and parents. Dr. Edward B. Fry summarized this list of the most common words used in English ranked in order of frequency. Parents and teachers usually use this list to push kids to study must-have vocabulary.
The app is designed to help teachers and parents to guide Fry vocabulary building. 1000 Fry words are categorized into 10 grades. Each grade has 100 words and is listed in 4 groups. Each word is shown as an interactive card. You can input and save definitions for words from grade 3 to 10. The app also offers a built-in lookup to get word definitions from online resources.
This app isn’t only a wordlist or card list, it includes exercises for each group to keep word building funny and manageable.
